HEALING FOR HURTS, HANG-UPS & HABITS

Celebrate Recovery operates as an extension of Fellowship Bible Church, a unique congregation focused on healing. It is for anyone who has a "hurt, hang-up, or habit" within the community at large or our own church body - not restricted to only people struggling with an addiction. We all have issues that may be interfering with our fellowship with God and others.

Step Studies

Step-study groups are held during the week, and meetings generally last two hours. Men and women, separated by gender, work through "The Journey Begins Participant's Guide Vol 1-4" (based on the eight principles and their Biblical comparison from Matthew 5), while following the "Five Guidelines for Sharing" during meetings. Groups meet weekly for about 12 months under the gentle and loving guidance of a trained leader and/or co-leader to let Christ help them reveal and deal with issues in their lives that have become heavy baggage.

Whatever the hurt, hang-up, or habit might be, people honestly working through the material in these step study groups are able to form strong bonds and support teams, find accountability partners, sponsors and friends through sharing and caring. Most importantly, they are able to be freed from the shame, guilt, and pain of their issues by learning to let go and let God take over – one day at a time!

Worship

Worshiping together as a part of our weekly Friday night Large Group Meeting times (7pm) is a major difference between Christ-centered and secular recovery programs. We realize the value of gathering with other fellow strugglers to worship the Highest Power of All – Jesus Christ. And, as our name “Celebrate Recovery” says, we will celebrate what God is doing in our lives! Songs are an integral part of that group celebration – along with lessons and life-change stories, prayers and other elements of worship.

The links below will link you to some songs to encourage you in your recovery journey. The first link will take you to a Spotify Playlist where you can listen to songs that we use regularly in our Friday night worship. And if you are interested in serving on one of our Celebrate Recovery Worship Teams, click the button below and fill out an application to get more information.

FAQ

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone struggling with life. If you have ever had a hurt, if you have ever had a hang-up in life, or perhaps you have struggled with an addiction, then this ministry is for you. We all share one thing in common: hurt.

Our recommendation would be that you attend five or six meetings before you decide if this is for you.

We ARE: A safe place, a refuge, a place of belonging, a place to care for others and be cared for, where respect is given to each member, where confidentiality is highly regarded, a place to learn, grow and become strong again, where you and your family can take off your mask, a place for healthy challenges and healthy risks, and a possible turning point in your life.

We are NOT: A place of selfish control, therapy, a place for secrets, a place to look for dating relationships, a place to rescue or be rescued by others, a place of perfection, a long-term commitment, a place to judge others or a quick fix.

Yes. Celebration Place meets in the Children’s Center for children 4th grade and under. You will be required to check them in and out for their safety, but you do not need to sign up ahead of time. For more info, contact Sylvia at [email protected]

Celebrate Recovery is one of the most loving environments you will be a part of. Everyone here is on the same road as you are, and though your issues may be differing in some ways, we are all seeking truth in the same way. This is a safe environment where you can be who you are. We want you to be comfortable, so come as you are.

While each component of Celebrate Recovery is important, you are not required to attend all four hours on Friday night. We know that each person’s situation is unique and simply ask you to attend what is applicable and convenient for you.

There is no cost to attend Celebrate Recovery meetings. We do offer a meal on Friday evenings from 6:00-6:45pm. There is a small fee if you would like to purchase food. Free-will offerings are received during the large group time, but there is no obligation to give. Workbooks and other resources are utilized in the step study groups offered at other times outside of the Friday night meetings and are available for purchase.

The chips are simple, round plastic coins that are designed to give each person an opportunity to mark their individual recovery. If you don’t have an addiction that can be marked by sobriety easily, then we suggest you mark your journey from the day you pick up the blue chip, which is the first chip marking surrender in your life.

In short, an accountability partner is anyone that you trust that is on the road with you in life. This person will be one for you to call and check-in with periodically. They can be trusted to point you to truth, to encourage your attendance to meetings, and walk with you on the road to recovery.

A sponsor is an accountability partner who has completed the recovery process. Ideally, you want the sponsor to have recovery in issues similar to your own, so they can relate to you and your journey. All accountability partners and sponsors are to be the same gender as you.

In physical health, recovery refers to the process of moving from illness to wellness. Our hurts, hang-ups, and habits are like an illness, and through using the tools of Celebrate Recovery, we begin to move toward wholeness and healing.

Celebrate Recovery offers a person the opportunity to participate in group fellowship where love and hope combine with God’s purpose to mend our lives.

Are there things in my life that I do that hurt others?

Is there something I wish I could live without?

Is it time to admit I am not in control of my life?

Do I have a painful hang-up or habit from which I need to be freed?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we urge you to attend a Celebrate Recovery meeting.
